Experience

A professional writer and copy editor in Toronto for over 10 years.

I've honed my technique through hundreds of projects for local and international clients, including essays, reports, grants, speeches, websites, posters, and articles.

Also, as an avid reader of fiction and journalism, I'm always discovering new insights about the written wordwhich I love to share with my students!

Some of my major accomplishments include:

  • Collaborating on $50M worth of successful grants at Ryerson University (briefly known as "The Four Million Dollar Man" for key contributions to a project).

  • Writing and editing more than 10,000 pages of reports, grants, and journal articles for clients in Canada and Europe.

  • Copy editing 17 PhD and 12 Master's dissertations on topics as diverse as business, psychology, engineering, and mathematics.

  • Editing the app of a major Canadian finance company.

  • Writing proposals for a technology start-up and an intellectual property firm.

  • Interviewing entrepreneurs and writing articles on social innovation at Ryerson University.

  • Copy editing three books: one academic and two creative non-fiction.

Mission

Helping young writers to reach their potential by enhancing their skills and self-confidence.

In 2016, I began to support newcomers and refugees in Toronto with stressful writing tasks: resumes, cover letters, professional emails, and university essays.

Soon after, I started to teach writing skills to students and youth at NMC-CESI, a language and culture workshop at the University of Toronto.

Because I realized something: you can write entirely on behalf of someone, with good results, but...

Eventually, to truly thrive in their professional life, people must take ownership over their own words.

That's my motivation for creating Knack. To build up your writing skills and help you gain confidence in clearly expressing yourself—in any situation that life throws at you.

Now, you can finally get rigorous feedback on your writing, without feeling judged or fighting the urge to yawn. Let's get the knack of writing!
